Job Description
Overview:
The BD Excellence Director EMEA will be responsible to drive the adoption and execution of the BD Excellence vision and strategy in EMEA, supporting structured growth and innovation across various business and functional areas.
In this position, you will be a key partner in our journey to BD Excellence, acting as reference and advisor to the EMEA Leadership Team (ELT) and will support the leadership team in managing the Continuous Improvement process, with emphasis on visual management, problem solving and kaizen.
Additionally, you will assist in deploying strategic plans, ensuring alignment through cascading critical metrics top-down and bottom-up, taking ownership for delivering and coaching BD Excellence across the EMEA Business Units and Functions.

The primary responsibilities will include:
BD Excellence Strategy Development and Deployment:
Lead the development and alignment of the BD Excellence vision and strategy in EMEA to support structured growth and innovation across various business and functional areas.
Support the deployment of the BD Excellence commercial toolbox and standardized methodologies to lead results and deliver increased sales effectiveness and tool adoption.
Use bowlers, key performance indicators, and action plans to drive prioritization and rigor based on clear metrics
Support the EVP President EMEA and EMEA Leadership Team in driving key initiatives through BD Excellence, including revenue growth, Gross Profit Improvement and Operational Profit.
Leading Change through BD Excellence initiatives:
Drive BD Excellence programs and initiatives to achieve LT CI objectives through top-down alignments and cross BU/Function resources.
Challenge existing paradigms, encourage and promote internal and external standard process; Drive collaboration within business unit and functions to accept new insights and achieve sustainable business improvements.
Lead digitalization and innovation efforts at organization level to improve the business and customer experience.
Cultivate BD Excellence culture and Capability Development:
Equip the EMEA Leadership Team with BD Excellence concepts and knowledge, focusing on external and internal benchmarking.
Be an expert (can teach and implement) in the BD Excellence fundamentals of Visual Management (VM)/ Daily Management (DM), Problem Solving Process (PSP), Kaizen and Funnel Management.
Use methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to structure these efforts.
Design and implement programs or initiatives to raise the awareness, adopt CI methodologies, and improve capabilities of BD Excellence.
About you:
University bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field is required, MBA or equivalent experience business exposure preferred.
Extensive experience in Sales and Marketing Leadership roles, with relevant Commercial Experience and a consistent track record of driving processes to achieve results, ideally with experience as a sales rep, sales leader, and in commercial operations.
Expert knowledge of the medical devices industry, ideally clinical diagnostics and capital equipment markets.
Significant career experience in an organization where a business system is part of the culture and the core tools of visual management, problem solving, kaizen are embedded in all aspects of the business.
Solid understanding of lean and six sigma business systems is preferred. Certified practitioner in lean tools is highly desirable.
Excellent facilitation & communication skills both in person and virtually.
Positive attitude and ability to work closely with entire leadership team to motivate change, continuous improvement, and engagement throughout the organization
Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
Ability to lead teams in a matrix organization with experience working in managing large-scale projects and leading cross-functional teams.
Entrepreneurial approach. Individual who can drive progress with limited oversight, highly proactive at solving problems and obtaining results.
Also about you:
Strong understanding of the EMEA regulation, market and business environment and BD commercial and operation excellence Principle, frameworks and methodologies.
Experience working in a highly matrixed organization and in overcoming ambiguity in large-scale organizational change efforts.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to build a coalition of support from collaborators and successfully inspire change in matrix environment with multiple partners.
Ability to translate strategic direction into execution – action orientation and drive for results coupled with a true “hands on” mentality.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as the need arises, c.50-70%.
