Job Summary
The receiving team lead will be responsible for the receipt of all incoming goods to ensure they are complete and in good condition. This role involves communicating effectively with suppliers, checking packing slips against orders, inspecting shipments for damages or defects, and processing returns when necessary. The receiving team lead must also adhere to safety protocols at all times while handling potentially hazardous materials or equipment. Additionally, this individual should possess strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records of inventory levels and transactions related to receiving activities.
Responsibilities
Ensure timely delivery of all items ordered through appropriate channels such as email requests or phone calls
Review purchase orders before submitting them electronically
Check received items against purchase order specifications and packing slip contents
Inspect returned items for damage or defects
Process returns according to established procedures
Maintain accurate records of incoming shipments and outgoing deliveries
Monitor stock levels regularly to avoid shortages or overstock situations
Handle customer complaints professionally and courteously
Adhere strictly to safety guidelines when dealing with chemicals or other potentially harmful substances
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
Experience working in a warehouse environment preferred but not essential
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Strong organizational abilities
Ability to lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally
Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting where deadlines need to be met quickly
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., would be beneficial
Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, etc., if needed
