Areas of Responsibilities
- The Financial Accountant is to provide accurate US GAAP and local GAAP statutory reporting for assigned legal entities. Responsible for income statements and balance sheets for assigned legal entities.
- Responsible for all compliance and tax compliance related matters related to assigned legal entities.
- Provide full support to the Finance Manager to sign off on USGAAP, local statutory GAAP, tax accounts and all compliance related matters.
- The person will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager, Finance Manager, members of the Entity Finance COE and internal and external service providers located in Germany, Belgium, Poland and India.
- Supporting the Finance Manager through working across the Entity Finance COE with members of the local and European GBS organization.
- Responsible for the US GAAP reporting, local statutory GAAP and tax compliance matters of all assigned entities.
- Ensure that the monthly US GAAP reporting is on-time and free from material misstatements.
- Establish a strong partnership with internal and external teams within and outside the GBS organization such as the FinOps COE Belgium & WSSC Poland, European Consolidation team, BP&A teams and external service providers.
- Strive towards a simplified month end process across all entities to provide an adequate level of detail for the Finance Manager and other business partners to sign off the monthly financial results.
- Work together with Senior Finance Manager, Finance Manager, Local Finance team and BP&A team to design a simplified review process and reports which will enable the Regional Controller to gain comfort and enable sign off on the month end performance.
- Identify areas of simplification (e.g. audit process). Work on standardization and best practice implementation by Challenging the status quo and constantly drive for efficiencies and improvements.
- Manage all external relationships (auditors, advisors and tax authorities) for assigned legal entities.
- Responsible for all compliance related matters related to the assigned legal entities. Drive continuous improvement in this area through monitoring of activities, assessing compliance risks and implementation of improvements.
- Take the lead on various projects within the GBS organization and working with other teams to deliver on objectives.
- To provide full support to the Country Controller to enable Country Controller to sign off on USGAAP and local GAAP statutory, Tax compliance and all compliance related matters.
Your Profile:
- Background in Finances, Accountancy and Taxes
- Good understanding of taxes system in DACH region (Germany, Austria & Switzerland)
- Proficiency in German and English is a Must
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel especially)
- Phenomenal communication skills and team spirit
