Our Sales and Application Specialist is expected to assist the Strategic Account Leader in providing a broad range of pre-sales and post-sales support for Integrated Diagnostic Solutions segment in Microbiology space across Hospital setting. This role is required to work with regional application to support value-added distributor on instrument application training, troubleshooting and all related sales technical support. The success of this role will rely largely on your ability to maintain key relationships and lead the execution of critical processes within the sales process.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate Distributor Sales and Application Performance

  • Collaborate with regional clinical and application team, be proficient in functionality of the instruments and understand the processes required in application and troubleshooting of assays/tests.
  • Work with segment marketing leader to cultivate strategic relationships with value-added distributor and key customers, facilitate the day-to-day demand generation activities, and assist distributor on post-sales application support for Microbiology solution.
  • Work with segment marketing leader and value-added distributor in launching marketing campaigns and clinical programs align with Life Sciences in-country strategy.

Building Strategic Relationships with Our Customer Accounts

  • Proactively engage with existing and potential customers to build and maintain strategic relationships, actively drive and accelerate growth for life sciences portfolio.
  • Collect and report related market information on customer insights, competitive intelligence, market trends.
  • Actively seek to understand the assigned account’s strategic priorities and developing appropriate value-added programs for effective customer retention and deepen market share.
  • Key opinion leaders and key account mapping for life sciences portfolio, actively identify potential headroom, pave way for microbiology end-to-end strategy and access full automation solution opportunities in hospital settings.

Provide Insights on Sales Landscape and Forecast

  • Provide valuable insights on development of sales strategies to better meet customer needs prioritizing a shift to holistic solution selling.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts as inputs into the overall demand planning and the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes.
  • Analyze sales and industry trends and make appropriate recommendations to ensure long-range planning needs pertaining to one’s area of responsibility are met.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience and knowledge of the Life Sciences markets coupled with strong business acumen.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Biomedical Sciences/ Biomedical Technology/ Microbiology/ Biology/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences or any equivalent qualification.
  • Strong technical and significant laboratory and/or scientific background, preferably in the phlebotomy, cytology, and microbiology field. Strong technical background in molecular biology will be added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant sales, accounts management and technical support in Medical Devices business, preferably in a multinational medical company.

Expected Capabilities and Behaviors

  • Experience with life sciences medical devices in hospital laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge of the preanalytical, cytology, microbiology and molecular biology laboratory processes and techniques.
  • Strong commercial background and aptitude with the ability to build collaborative relationships and influence.
  • Adaptable communicator, Effective communication skills to clearly articulate technical and product information to both internal and external customers
  • Strong business acumen, able to translate data and information into meaningful business insights and clear recommendations.
  • Delivers a clear, compelling, and shared vision focused on delighting our customers.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivated individual who is customer-focused and results-oriented.
  • Self-driven, seeks continuous improvement and proactively thinks ahead.
  • Excellent command of Bahasa and English (i.e., written and spoken).
  • Comfortable working in a cross functional dynamic team environment.
  • Comply with all local BD established policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of these principles.
  • Other duties as assigned.
