The OCOS ISC Sr. Finance Analyst will be responsible for maintaining accounting and reporting procedures resulting in accurate operations performance reporting, ensuring product inventories & manufacturing assets are adequately accounted for in totality, and coverage for manufacturing Controllers. The associate will occasionally interact with Global Supply Chain, Global Procurement, Research and Development, BD Excellence, and other General & Administrative functions. Drives change, as needed, to ensure compliance to GAAP/SOX, reviewing and delivering recommendations for continuous improvement, and clearly communicating relevant fiscal information to management.
The OCOS ISC Sr. Finance Analyst will be responsible for all financial activities associated with the US based Surgery OCOS and report to the Sr Manger, ISC Finance – Surgery.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform month-end close and related reporting requirements for OCOS ISC Finance
Analyze monthly variances and prepare summary reports for management presentations
Lead/Collaborate across business functions on annual budget preparation, standard setting, and forecasting
Perform ad hoc reporting on a periodic basis as requested
Develop operating procedures/systems to improve financial and management reporting as required
Assist with financial modeling for various investment proposals
Assist with ensuring compliance with corporate financial policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Leverage financial metrics to aid and influence leadership decisions to optimize the financial health of the business
Partners with the ISC Finance to optimize finance related analytics, ensure appropriate financial/accounting rigor, introduce process discipline as needed, and safeguard company assets.
Drives continuous financial improvement through preparation/review of business cases, inventory analysis, new product and discontinuance analysis, and spending analysis.
Ensures that financial reports and records are prepared in compliance with US GAAP and BD financial policies.
Ensures that financial controls are maintained and that the requirements of the Sarbanes/Oxley Act are met.
Assists both internal and external auditors with their periodic review of financial records.
Assist in special projects and ad hoc tasks as requested
Minimum qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in accounting or finance preferred
Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience to include, but not limited to financial reporting, month-end duties, forecasting, and annual reports.
CPA / CMA preferred (or working toward designation)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
ERP experience is necessary; specifically, JDE/SAP experience is preferred.
Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUPS, etc.)
Audit experience preferred, and knowledge of SOX controls.
